In fact, if the effort is not made to include all children with disabilities in physical education classes and sports activities from the start, it may never be possible. The FEDC (Spanish Federation of Sports for the Blind) continued to manage competitive sport activities. A total of 142 sporting activi-ties celebrated in 2023 illustrate the high le-vel of commitment for the training of athle-tes, with the aim of offering them the best opportunities to train and compete, including training camps and competitions, both natio-nal and international, on the road to the Paris 2024 Games, in some cases. In addition, there are sports immersion ga-therings for young people, as well as Sports Schools in which many visually impaired stu-dents from all parts of the territory join in a gathering of health and coexistence around physical activity. With regard to the ONCE Foundation, it is worth highlighting the collaboration in the “Plan de Ayuda al Deporte Objetivo Paralím-pico” (ADOP Plan) (Aid to Objective Paralym-pic Sport Plan), as well as the sponsorship of different events and congresses related to the organisation’s goals, being of particular rele-vance the South Summit Madrid 2023 edition (an event regarded as a benchmark for entre-preneurship in southern Europe), StartupO-lé 2023, the sponsorship of two programmes in collaboration with Ship2B (called BValue and Lab Health and Care, aimed at detecting and advising entities that design and develop projects with social impact) and the Impact Forum event organised by Ship2B. It has continued to support the wheelchair basketball team CD Ilunion. The club has esta-blished itself as one of the top teams in Euro-pe, currently first place in the European Whe-elchair Basketball Club Ranking. In addition to its strictly sporting activities, CD Ilunion, in the same spirit as its Founder (the ONCE Foundation) and its official sponsor (Ilunion), carries out an education, awareness and sen-sitisation programme aimed at minors, throu-gh the promotion of wheelchair basketball and values associated with sport and disabi-lity, such as self-improvement, diversity and equality.
