The Bi-regional Social Forum of the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean whe-re, once again, we contributed the disability perspective and, in particular, the Group’s mo-del of social inclusion as an element of cohe-sion that unites both regions. Climate Change Conference (COP28) celebra-ted in Dubai. In the intergo-vernmental sphere and under the patronage of the Spanish Embassy to the Organisation of American States (OAS), an event on vio-lence against women with disabilities was held within the framework of its 53rd General Assembly, which was attended by the Minis-ter for Women’s Affairs of Panama and the Minister for Equality of Chile, together with the third vice-president of the ONCE Social Group. In the field of the United Nations, we renewed our collaboration with UNICEF and presented, together with ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin America and the Ca-ribbean), the report on employment, infor-mality and persons with disabilities in Latin America and the Caribbean. On the other side of the Atlantic, and in the framework of the relationship with the Union for the Mediterranean, we promoted the crea-tion of the EUROMED Agenda on the inclu-sion of people with disabilities in this region. Governments, disabled people’s organisa-tions and international experts are working together with the advice of the ONCE So-cial Group to make decisive progress in the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, with a particular focus on employment, social pro-tection, emergencies, climate change and gender equality. 2023 was also the year of the consolidation of the ‘Por Talento Latinoamérica’ Program-me, which held its first regional meeting with the participation of the four partner coun-tries (Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Dominican Republic), as well as representa-tives from IDB Lab, ECLAC, OISS, ILO, the International Disability Alliance, the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the ONCE Social Group. In alliance with the Innovation Laboratory of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB Lab), this project seeks to internationalise the work methodology in labour inclusion for people with disabilities (the Inserta Em-pleo Programme of the ONCE Foundation) that has shown such good results in Spain. Outside our borders, other events where we had visibility were the Zero Project Confe-rence in Vienna, the EU-CELAC social forum in Brussels and the Ibero-American Summit in the Dominican Republic.
